If you are like the many people who have realized that they need additional income, you’re excited and full of passion about starting a business, being successful, becoming financially stable, and obtaining your goal of living a new lifestyle with the freedom to do whatever you want to do when you want to do it.

All of that is great except you have to learn how to successfully build relationships in order to build your business. How do you or are you going to do that? Are you willing to sacrifice your dignity, character, and your credibility just to make a buck? Take a step back and decide what problem(s) you have the expertise to solve and who you want your ideal clients to be. So I’m asking you, “Who do you want to work with?”

You Make The Call

You’re an entrepreneur and you make the call as to who you do or don’t do business with. Step back for a moment and ask yourself these questions:

  • Ø Why do I want to leave my job?
  • Ø Am I tired of dealing with certain types of personality every day?
  • Ø Are the people I see daily speaking my language?
  • Ø Am I the stranger in my crowd now?
  • Ø Are my values being compromised
  • Ø Can I make a change

This is your business and you get to choose who you want to hang out with. You build relationships. Personally, if I can’t have a cup of coffee or share a meal with you, become friends over the phone, get to know a little about you, and see if we have common ground, then we will not be entering each other’s circle. After working over 42 years of my life, the last thing I want is to be around someone that I don’t have anything in common with just because they have money and can pay for my service. Is it really worth it? You make the call.

Targeted Marketing

Is there such a thing as a perfect client or a perfect pool where buyers hangout and are ready to purchase certain items?

Fishing would be good if we could find that fishing hole!

My answer to that question would be yes and no. Why no? Well, let’s think about this for a minute. You hear on a daily basis that you should advertise or market in your targeted marketing area. Does this mean that there is a physical place where people are waiting to spend money or is this a place where people are looking for you and are ready to throw money at you because you have the real “goodies!” No!

Now I will answer yes! Yes, your perfect client or the perfect pool is where there are people who you want to do business with. These people are searching for a solution to their problems. You’ve chosen your niche and you’ve discovered that you have a service or a solution to solve the problem(s) that the people who you want to work with are having. Your perfect client(s) are online asking the “how-to” question in the search engines. They are in social media groups; like minds stick together in places where they discuss their problems and are able to come to some resolution.

There are several places and groups on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn where you can find forums and groups of people who are looking for solutions to their problems. I’m basically saying, you have to put some effort into your research and find the best “fishing hole” for the fish that you’re trying to catch!

Why?

Are you trying to sell yourself or are you discussing the features, benefits, and what your service or product can do to solve your potential clients’ issues? If you’re talking about yourself to potential clients, do you think they are listening? Some might be listening but most want to know what you have that will cure their pain, help them start a business, get out of debt or anything that they desperately need.

When you began your business, think back as to why you started. Did you start your business just to make money and get rich? Did you start your business to get out of debt? Or did you start your business because you recognized that you had a solution to an issue or problem that seemed to be a common issue that people were online trying to find the solution for? You had been through this thing, found a way out, and at that moment you said to yourself, ” I don’t want anyone else to have to go through this.” You had a solution and at this point, you found your purpose in life.

It was at this point that you became passionate about helping others solve a particular problem and you found yourself unable to sleep, up at nights, and talking about this newly founded passion to everyone you met. At that point, you were talking about the benefits of your business and why you were the person to work with. Your passion came over as caring and you had empathy for the person who was going through that same issue. The important thing is that the people who you had a chance to share with knew it.

Trust

There’s one thing that tends to change everything that you do. Stephen M. R, Covey wrote, “There is one thing that is common to every individual, relationship, team, family, organization, nation, economy, and civilization throughout the world. One thing which, if removed, will destroy the most powerful government, the most thriving economy, the most influential leaders, the greatest friendship, the strongest character, the deepest love.”He goes on to say, “on the other hand, if developed and leveraged, that one thing has the potential to create unparalleled success and prosperity in every dimension of life. Yet, it is the least understood, most neglected, and most underestimated possibility in our time.”That one thing is trust.

Conclusion

Simply put, trust is confidence in an individual or organization. It is other people feeling good about relying on you. Its value can hardly be overstated. Trustworthiness is the universally accepted test of good character,(Alexander Green, 2011).

Are you willing to sacrifice your dignity, character, and your credibility just to make a buck? So I’m asking you, “Who do you want to work with?”

What In Hell Are You Doing To Finally Get Out of The Rat Race?

What in hell are you doing? Okay, I’ve been out sick again and recovering nicely. My job as an Operations Supervisor is changing presenting more mental stress than ever and while I’ve been down “don’t count me out yet!”

I’ve created two more streams of income! I’m pressing towards my mark of creating passive income for my retirement that will be fun just because I’m learning something new and because I’m leaving something for my legacy.

My last post, “Who Do You Want To Work For” seemed to stir the pot a little but not enough to get you moving.  Wealthy Affiliate has been a great platform for me to initiate my first stream of income. It has allowed me to be the leader for which I am to others that I have not seen but get to reach out to by way of its platform. Being a premium member has given me a number of advantages. The number one advantage is the opportunity to share my knowledge and experiences with people all over the world.

What’s It Going To Cost You?

What’s it going to cost you? You have to put in the work in order to accept the price. Who is your market? Who do you want to work with? Is this journey worth it? When are you really going to begin working? These questions can only be answered by you for yourself. I had to accept the fact that there are many angles to this puzzle but there is one structure and a plan to follow with Wealthy Affiliate; follow it you might just discover something. It works!

Why Are You Comparing?

We tend to compare what we have with what we don’t have. More specifically, we compare what we have with what other people have and this becomes our focus and makes us unhappy.

If there was no one to compare with, it would change everything. Most of us would probably feel more fortunate. The ability to see what we don’t have causes us to overlook what we do have. You have a lifetime of experiences, relationships, and you were born with skills.

There’s no way around that. There are only ways to reduce it. We can start by recognizing that envy maybe what’s making you feel like you don’t have enough experience or education. That’s not true for everyone. Some people truly don’t have enough. But most of us likely do.

Enough will never feel like enough until you recognize that it’s enough. Look for contentment outside material wealth.

Our own impulses are what enslaves us. Material wealth makes it easier for us to delude and trap ourselves by our own desires.

So I ask you again, “What in hell are you doing?” Get off your behind, focus, plan, and execute your plan.

Planning Your Email Marketing

Your best chance of success with email marketing is to create a plan based on the products that you want to promote. It all starts with your product funnel, which leads to your content marketing plan, which leads to your email marketing calendar. All email marketing should be focused toward promoting your products and/or services and that requires planning.

The following steps will help you increase the results of your email marketing.

Craft a Working Product Funnel – You probably already have various products and services, but you may not have designed a product funnel yet that helps you understand how everything is interconnected and works together. Understanding this can help you keep your different lists and promotions in order.

Design Sales Pages for Each Product – Each page should tell your audience the benefits of purchasing the product. Remember sales pages focus is on the audience, not on you. Benefits over features, always – pretend you are the client and answer all the questions and concerns they might have right on the sales page.

Start Appropriate Email Lists for Each Product– Using your autoresponder, create the lists for each product or service that you will promote. At the minimum you will want a general email list for people who visit the front page of your blog and then two lists for each product you sell. Create one list for people who purchased the product and one list for people who just want more info about the product. Name them appropriately so that you know where to put the messages based from where the audience joins your list.

Develop a New Product Launch Calendar – Knowing when each product is being launched for new upcoming products and or services will help you identify which lists you can include the announcements and information on. Plus, it will remind you to create new sales pages, lists, blog posts and email marketing messages for each new product.

Create a Blog Post Publication Calendar – Based on the product launch calendar, write blog posts and set deadlines for them to be scheduled. Ensure that some blog posts promote the various sales pages, and other blog posts are designed for those who purchased already. For each message, consider who will see it and where they come from.

Create a Social Media Content Publication Calendar – Develop social media messages in a series based on your blog posts that will attract your readers to click through to your sales pages and purchase or sign up for your email lists.

Create an Email Publication Calendar – Based on how everything works together above, create a series of emails that you can edit appropriately for each separate list that you may want to promote the new product to. Load them into the right auto responders, ensuring they link to the right sales pages depending on the audience they are sent out to.

Craft Follow-Up Messages – Don’t forget to craft all your follow-up messages too for each product that you sell. Once sold, you will want to keep in contact with the customer who bought it so that you can market future products and services to them.

By creating a plan of action to follow, you can make sure every single time you launch a new product that you can cross-promote other products and services without bombarding your list too much with messages they don’t need, thus increasing your conversion rates exponentially. If all the content you create goes together like a puzzle to promote all your products and services in a seamless way, it’ll be that much easier each time to set up for each new product.

My new mentor wrote, “We have to find a way to increase this business. You know or maybe you haven’t thought about this, and that is your business is either growing or shrinking. So the only option is to expand. ”

Entrepreneurs frown and shy away from strategic marketing because they don’t understand how to build a list of potential clients who are interested in spending money on their products/services.

If we asked any business owner regardless of a new startup from scratch business, an existing brick and mortar company, or an online internet business their motives and thoughts are the same. They all want their businesses to grow, but they don’t know what steps to take. I recommend Email Marketing!

Email Marketing

Grow or Die!

Focus on what I am getting ready to say to you, “You have too many ideas and you are confusing yourself.” For instance, we are considering expanding our services and we haven’t earned a profit from the “Hub” that houses five other businesses “Under One Roof.” We can’t decide whether we should increase our mailings, visibility and secure ad space. We have too many directions. In this case, what should we do?

Planning

First, I don’t believe in doing anything without a plan. I am a person who has a lot of things going on in my mind and prefers seeing it on paper or on the screen. Mind Mapping allows you to brainstorm and put put your ideas in front of you so you can visually see what does and doesn’t make sense. I personally recommend Free Mind because it’s free and you have an opportunity to learn at your pace.  The one thing that new entrepreneurs seem too have in common is that they can’t seem to identify and hit the target! Missed targetGetting organized by organizing your thoughts will get you closer to your target.

If you are a Baby Boomer you are really confused! You need a system to follow mainly because you are structured and in most cases very well organized; you just need some type of guide to follow.   Sr Confused by computer

Panic Attacks Are Crippling

What Are Panic Attacks?

According to the Anxiety Depression Association of America, Panic attacks can be identified as palpitations, accelerated heart rate or pounding heart, sweating, shaking or trembling, and a sensation of smothering or shortness of breath accompany the intense discomfort or fear of a panic attack.



Let’s face it, starting a new business is no easy feat! If you’ve experienced any of the symptoms above you are normal and it’s natural to feel discomfort when approaching the unknown for the first time. Of course, we are not talking about panic attacks with serious identifications as those above. I want you to understand that starting down the unknown and sometimes lonely road of launching a business can be scary.

I also want to make note that starting a business in a direction that is new and will become your next career is even scarier. What happens when you lose your confidence because you’re in a position in life that you never planned for or even saw coming and you’re tired of having to prove yourself and/or defend your decisions.

You were a professional before you came to this job and now all of the sudden you feel like you don’t fit because you’re not in your world anymore. You were in the military and now you’re in the civilian world and the systems are not bringing about that familiar cohesion that was a way of life for you. Instead the team seems happy with backwards or non-existent systems because they have been functioning that way for 10 – 20 years and are fine with being just OK .

Stage Fright

I remember the stages and days of anxiety when I started my business; I had a huge event that stopped my life for a period. My mom died on her birthday at 93 years old. Getting back from this blow was tough. My wife and I had taken the steps to get our business license, mailbox, set up our office, and we had been blessed with clients prior to our business start up. Things couldn’t have been better; then came this normal occurrence in life.

How do you:

  • Know your business and materials inside and out
  • Have several paydays resulting from very little work on your part for your clients
  • Know you are getting short on cash,
  • Begin suffering from anxiety and you put off taking that first, important, and very necessary step in order for your business to officially launch?

Well that happened to me. I had a flashback of all the negative occurrences I had had in the courthouses so I kept procrastinating and finding excuses or other things to do so that I wouldn’t have to execute my plan. The funnier thing is when I finally executed, everything was different; all of the people I encountered and met that day were extremely helpful and kind to me. Just the opposite of my past negative experiences and it took only 10 minutes to execute and we were in business with our first client with a four figure payout. I wasted approximately two weeks due to my anxiety and had I used that negativity and fear as fuel, money should have been in the bank and I would have already gained the confidence of my client to refer more business.

Focus on what’s important. Capture the Good times. Develop from the negatives. And if things don’t work out,
